After a short week this hump day is feeling pretty good 🍺🍺, we got another rad bike check coming at ya soon so keep an eye out for that.
The weather is looking ace, it’s a long weekend, so make sure you get you for a shred!
This classic shot of the old Victoria Skate Park was sent through by Liam Stewart for the Black & White files, shot by Pommie Mark just before the old park was shut down for good.
Time to refresh your week with some banger videos, enjoy!
Matt Marshall got this little number custom built for himself a few years back by FBM, its a rad machine so be sure to check it out!
Here’s a look at the new Auckland Skateparks going in the Waterview connection area. The top park is going to be located at Waterbank Crescent & the bottom park will be at Valonia Street. Both parks will be completed sometime around mid 2016 along with the BMX park.
Got a few Zombie patches & stickers made up if anyone is keen, stickers are free & patches are $20, hit me at firstname.lastname@example.org, rad!
Update: Patches are sold out!
Mondays Photo is dead, the contributions are low, so instead of keeping trying to keep the dead alive I thought I would introduce a new segment to the site, The Black & White Files. I will try and post at least once a week, with both old & new photos, and of course always Black & White, the grittier the better! If you have anything kicking around you want to contribute be sure to send it in.
This photo I found while sifting around various photographers websites. Its shot by Kyle Emery-peck of Auckland/Vancouver shredder Dave Struthers.
More Black & White Goodness coming at ya next week!
Our friends over at the Lost Boys Collective have set up a fundraising project called A Very Merry Christmas, the project is set up to get as many underprivileged kids as possible skateboards for this Christmas. Which is a very rad idea!
I know this is a BMX blog, but a lot of you do skate as well, so if you have an old board kicking around head over the the Lost Boys site to see how you can donate to this good cause.
For the last couple of years Auckland City has had a massive roading project going on, the Waterview Connection, which is a motorway tunnel connecting the north west motorway to the south west motorway. Its a huge project and apparently is the biggest roading tunnel in the southern hemisphere. In conjunction with building the tunnel the Auckland City council has also decided to build two new skateparks at either end, also Auckland’s first ever BMX only park/track! This is the final plan for the park, its definitely looking sick! Construction starts soon but the park wont be open till mid 2016. I’m tracking down plans for the Skateparks and will post those soon.
